Understanding Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Requirements
EMC is the compatibility between electronic products that emit electromagnetic disturbance and can be susceptible to that same disturbance. North American and European Laws require emission and (in the EU) susceptibility performance testing and certification. Commercial Aircraft, Automotive Manufacturers and Military procurement require the same. This will be a review of the laws and basic requirements for all these categories, with emphasis on what is needed to meet these requirements.
