Scalable autonomy for safe all-weather operations in outdoor industrial environments.

This seminar, conducted by Mr. John O’Shea will outline the state of the art and the challenges that need to be addressed for scale autonomy in industrial use cases. This talk will be mostly centred on efficient, safe and reliable perception pipelines from a computation and a cost perspective. The discussed industrial use cases include mining, construction, dock and yard management, agriculture and waste management applications.

About John O’Shea

John O’Shea, MEng, is Chief Technology Officer at Helgen Technologies (Techstars 22’). He has more than 30 years of experience in hardware and software in high tech. John has developed systems as small as an 8051 uController to large-scale hardware/software applications for enterprise data storage systems. John spent nearly 20 years of his career working in the United States at Dell EMC.

More recently after returning to Ireland, John has worked in Jaguar Land Rover in both the AD and EV divisions, and for Qualcomm where he was responsible for leading a team for critical security features in the next-gen Snapdragon chip. John has five patents granted.
