Optimizing the balance between edge and cloud in robotics
Robots, as embedded systems, are capable of local computation. However, different robotic systems operate in different environments under varied requirements and dynamic contexts. Robots might not always be able to lift the heavy computational load. Therefore, robot development should optimize the contention between reliance on cloud computation or on the edge (robot). In this talk, we will introduce these issues and suggest using a hybrid cloud-based paradigm.
