About Brian Derby

Brian Derby is a managing consultant and founder of BTD Consulting Services.

He spent seventeen years in corporate America working in Information Technology for recognizable brands such as Chick-fil-A, Disney, and National Public Radio. He spent years in Systems Engineering, with stints in the application and web-based software development and software packaging, all while focusing on cybersecurity. Before launching BTD Consulting, he spent three years in IT management, working alongside consulting firms such as PWC, Deloitte, and KPMG.

Brian has a dual degree (B.S.) in Management and Information Systems from Penn State. He received his Juris Doctor (privacy-focused) from Western State Law and has a certificate in International Business Negotiations. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2017.

He has a personal specialty in federal regulatory compliance and cyber-governance within information technology. He is also a former Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator.
